Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in the United States (and worldwide) and non-small cell histology accounts for over 85% of all lung cancer cases. Late diagnosis can impede survival outcomes, but favorable clinical prognostic factors generally include good performance status, no weight loss, and female gender.
